MOUNTAIN  AND  LEVADA  WALKS
Madeira is a hikers paradise, more than 2000 km of unique levadas (narrow irrigation channels) with an incredibly  biodiverse flora, fantastic smelling Laurel forests, sculpted terraces of ordered fertile farmland, cascading waterfalls, deep canyons, unspoilt valleys and delightful villages with restaurants serving regional food and beverages.
There are spectacular mountain and summit hikes on this volcanic island, with routes suitable for all levels of ability.

WHALE AND DOLPHIN WATCHING

We organise trips with two selected providers to see sea turtles and various species of whales and dolphins.
Lookouts on land (called Vigias) radio the positions of the sea animals to the boat skippers. These providers always have a licensed marine guide / marine biologist on board and follow the rules relating to approaching and respecting the sea life.

CARS/MOTORCYCLES

German enterprise guarantees new and carefully inspected vehicles. For enthusiastic motorcyclists it is a really special adventure to discover the island on two wheels.

BOAT TRIPS

Trips to the Deserted Islands, a nature reserve, and to the southwest and east of the island with impressive views back to Madeira. Moonlight and sunset trips are also available.
Enjoy a trip on the Santa Maria a replica of the flagship of Christopher Columbus.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

Our diving centre is situated in the Royal Orchid Hotel. The hotel has established a new mountain bike station with a fit and friendly guide to help you explore the island on two wheels.

CANYONING
Sporting and wet in the most remote and unspoilt corners of the island.

PARAGLIDING
Take off and have a birdseye view of the beautiful landscape.

CLIMBING
Climb with a competent professional using the right equipment. Take the first warm up climb on a climbing wall before moving on to the real thing outdoors.

GOLF
Madeira has two golf courses, 18 hole Palheiro GC and 27 hole Santo da Serra GC. Both are in fabulous settings with spectacular views.

EXCURSIONS TO PORTO SANTO
One day or longer trips can be arranged with the Porto Santo Line to our neighbouring island which has a beautiful  8km long white sand beach and an 18 hole golf course, home to the Madeira Open Championship.
